Skycut 2.5 W Laser – engraving module for Skycut cutting plotters

The Skycut 2.5 W Laser expands the capabilities of Skycut cutting plotters by allowing them to be used as engraving devices. The laser module is designed for Skycut C and CX series plotters and enables precise engraving on various materials, such as plywood, lightweight balsa wood, and other materials up to 6 mm thick.

The module allows the creation of personalized decorations, tags, pet tags, decorative elements, place cards, and projects made from wood and wood-based materials. It can also be used for photo engraving and creating rustic and boho-style decorations.

Laser operation

To operate the laser module, SignMaster PRO software is required. The software allows automatic generation of engraving lines covering the selected area. Adjusting the line density makes it possible to achieve different engraving effects and create designs with varying levels of intensity.

Laser installation

1. Open the top cover of the plotter.
2. Open the holder located at the back of the laser module.
3. Mount the module on the plotter head (carriage) using the specially designed hooks.
4. Connect the power cable to the dedicated socket on the carriage.
5. With the plotter switched off, move the carriage to the left side of the device.
6. Close the top cover.
7. On the touchscreen panel, select: Set  Advanced Settings  System Mode  Laser cut.

When using the laser module, always wear the included protective glasses and follow all safety instructions.

• Do not use the laser on materials such as: plexiglass, vinyl and materials containing PVC, steel, glass, or mirrored surfaces.
• Never look directly into the laser beam.
• Never leave the operating laser unattended.
• The device should only be used in a well-ventilated room.
• Keep flammable materials away from the working area.
• The laser module is designed for surface engraving only, not for cutting materials through.
• Keep the device out of reach of children and untrained users.
