      Product description

      Cyan V-Edition OCP ink

Following the trends of the OEM to design and produce more and more ink cartridges with very durable and fade-resistance inks, OCP's V-edition inks match these requirements perfectly. By extensive, comparative tests under precisely defined conditions, OCP proves that key properties such as smudge and scratch resistance as well as light fastness of these particular OCP inks are at least as excellent as of the OEM inks.

In case of the recent Claria™ Inks, the selection of raw materials was exceptionally difficult. Especially the extremely high cost of excellent dyes for the Cyan ink made it necessary to develop two alternative Cyan ink formulations which give the customers the choice between:
      1. IJ C 140 - a cyan ink of superb light fastness and durability (equal to Epson Claria™), or
      2. IJ C 142 - a cyan ink with good colour gamut with limited light fastness (for standard printing purposes)

      Dye-Based Inks

      General Characteristics of Dye-Based Inks

Dye-based ink is a type of ink in which the colorant is fully dissolved in water. It is widely used in inkjet printing due to its vibrant color reproduction and excellent print quality. When refilling or remanufacturing inkjet printer cartridges, bottled dye-based ink must meet strict quality standards to ensure reliable performance and consistent printing results.

      These requirements include:

      • Chemical properties – correct dye-based or pigment-based formulation and ink composition.
      • Physical properties – optimal surface tension, viscosity, pH level, and other critical parameters.
      • Cartridge refilling compatibility – proper cartridge balance, compatibility with refill materials, and the use of appropriate refilling equipment.
      • Benefits of Dye-Based Ink

Dye-based inks offer several advantages that make them an excellent choice for everyday printing and high-quality photo output:

      • Brilliant, vibrant colors with a wide color gamut.
      • Reduced risk of printhead nozzle clogging.
      • Exceptional print resolution, especially on glossy and photo paper.
      • Smooth color gradients and outstanding image quality.
      • Limitations of Dye-Based Ink

Like any printing technology, dye-based inks also have some limitations:

      • Lower resistance to water and moisture.
      • Longer drying time compared to pigment-based inks.
      • Reduced fade resistance when exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.

Compatible bottled inks are formulated differently from original OEM inks due to patent restrictions and proprietary manufacturing technologies. However, these differences do not compromise print quality when high-quality compatible inks are used.

Final print quality depends not only on the ink itself but also on the type and quality of the printing media. Choosing the right paper—especially premium photo paper or high-quality inkjet paper—helps achieve sharp details, accurate colors, and long-lasting print results.

Our premium dye-based inks are designed to deliver reliable performance, vivid color reproduction, and excellent compatibility with a wide range of inkjet printers, making them an ideal solution for home, office, and professional photo printing.
